What is your favorite Mother’s Day tradition?
Yikes this is going to be really boring but I don’t have one. Breakfast in bed feels very cliché and I’d rather eat it in the kitchen anyway. If I had to pick, I’d say pizza and beer with my husband and daughter. Simple, satisfying and always a good time.
Is there a piece of jewelry you would love to hand down to your children?
For sure my ‘N’ necklace since my daughter and I share the same initials. But I also got a diamond necklace for my 30th birthday which was made from a stone from my grandmother’s engagement ring and I’ll definitely pass that down.
How do you manage the "mom guilt" that comes with balancing work and family time?
I don’t have a huge amount of mom guilt because I work from home so even though I’m working, I’m still very present with Navy. We do have a nanny who’s become what feels like a family member (which is the dream) and so our days just feel like one big family hanging out. It’s not always easy though, sometimes when I’m shooting content I really need silence so I’ll try and time that mostly when Navy is napping but doesn’t always work out that way which makes it hard to get things done efficiently. I do most of my work from the kitchen which is also where Navy hangs out the most so we’re together most of the time but unfortunately during the week it’s not often me who is taking her to the park or to the playground but I don’t feel guilty about it because I’ll always be here when she’s back and I’m proud of what I’m working on and building and the goal is for that to positively impact her future too and it’s important for me that she sees me as a positive role model when it comes to career and hard work.
